Because they are so similar, dishwasher designs are much simpler to master than either washers or dryers. Hot water is sprayed on dishes stacked in a 24" wide box, drained and heated by an element to dry off the water. All designs have many similar problems. Clogs from debris scraped off of plates is the biggest culprit.
